What Real Estate Video Actually Costs in St. Petersburg
Ask five agents in St. Petersburg what listing video costs and you will get five numbers that do not overlap. That is not because anyone is being dishonest — it is because “video” covers everything from a ninety-second vertical reel shot on a gimbal to a fully scripted, agent-led production with drone, lighting and licensed music. Here is what actually drives the number.
Square footage matters less than you think
A 1,400 sq ft bungalow in Old Northeast and a 2,600 sq ft home in Snell Isle often take a similar amount of time on site. What actually drives cost is the number of distinct spaces worth covering, how much furniture has to move, and whether the exterior needs more than one lighting condition.
The real cost drivers
Drone coverage. Adds time on site plus a licensed pilot. Worth it for waterfront, large lots, and anything where location is the selling point — which in St. Pete is most of the good listings.
Twilight. A twilight exterior means a second trip or a long wait for a fifteen-minute window. It photographs beautifully and it costs accordingly.
Agent on camera. Shifts the shoot from documentary to directed. Needs a second angle, audio, and usually more takes than anyone expects. It also produces the content that markets you, not just the house — which is why it earns its place.
Turnaround. Rush delivery is real work being reorganised around you, and it is priced that way.
How to choose a tier
The useful question is not “what does video cost” but “what is this listing's marketing budget as a fraction of the commission, and where does it do the most work?” On a beach condo where the view is the product, drone and twilight earn their keep. On an inland starter home, a tight vertical reel and strong stills will outperform an expensive cinematic piece that nobody watches to the end.
What to check before you book
Ask what is included in the base number, what the common add-ons cost, whether music is licensed, what formats you receive, and how many revisions are included. If those five answers come back clearly, the price is probably honest. If they come back vague, the number will grow after the shoot.
